This room originally had a cast iron bath in the corner, a toilet and a fifty gallon cold water tank. These were all removed before work began to make it structurally safe. All floorboards were removed to expose the original oak joists. These were strapped by a local blacksmith. The room’s oak frame was exposed and treated and walls were repaired and plastered. The floor was relaid. New plumbing and electrics were installed. A new framework was built in the roof-space to house new water tanks.
